EAST LOST IN SEMI FINALS
On Sat. May 5 East Rugby lost to Cherry Creek 20-17 in a thrilling overtime match at Dick's Stadium.
There was a large crowd of East players, parents students and fans.
Thanks to the ticket sales efforts of coach Matt McConville and Ally
Baily, East Rugby made $315 off the gate.
Also thanks to the Denver Barbarians for including us as a curtain raiser for their big victory over San Francisco Golden Gate.
EAST IN 3rd PLACE MATCH ON WED. MAY 9
East Rugby will play Aurora for 3rd place in the state on Wed. May 9 , 5
p.m. kick off in Infinity Park Stadium in Glendale- 950 South Birch
Street.
That will be the first game, followed by the Division I Championship
between Colorado Springs and Cherry Creek. at 6:30 p.m.. At 7:45 p.m.
our own Ian Round will be honored as the Division I Rugby Colorado
student Athlete of the year. At 8;15 the Division II Championship
between PAC and Aspen will kick off.
EAST RUGBY PRACTICES
We will practice on Monday May 7 and Tues. May 8 at 3;30 p.m. at City Park
LISA SMITH TO RECEIVE ANGEL AWARD FROM EAST H.S.
Our great trainer Lisa Smith will be honored Monday May 7- 7 p.m. in the
East H.S. lunchroom. We encourage all coaches, players, past players ,
parents and fans to attend to show our support for Lisa.
EAST RUGBY END OF SEASON PARTY AND AWARDS BANQUET E.O.S. party is
Thursday May 10, 5;30 p.m. at Crestmoor Swim Club- 101 South Kearney.
Players are required to return ( or purchase) their shorts, socks and
fleeces. Also- please return any rugby DVDs you have from the film
library.
U17 and U19 SELECT SIDE CAMPS
We encourage all serious players to attend these camps. This will help
you for next year and may lead to your becoming the 8th High School All
American out of the East program. 1st camp date is Sat. May 12, 9
a.m.-noon at Denver University. Fitness is important.
High School players born on or after 9/1/1992 are eligible for the u-19. Players born before that can play u-17.

Allan is the Head Coach at Denver University and the father of East
player Jake Wilson. Allan is a long time friend of east Rugby and a
wonderful coach.

Mike was vice captain of the U.S. Eagles national team and coached at
East for 4 yeas. He still helps us and is the Head Coach at Regis
University.
He is a great coach too.
I believe the camp is $150 for 5 camp dates and the national tournament
in Aurora. If you are really serious about attending but cannot because
of cost, please contact me and we'll look for a way to help you out.
